The limited understanding of some netizens regarding the governance and standing of international institutions often gives rise to misconceptions about UIPM, causing UIPM to be perceived as a “mysterious” organization or even regarded as lacking credibility.
Such perceptions may be understood as a limitation of knowledge, as UIPM’s position, structure, and legal standing operate at an international level that is not easily comprehensible to the general public without a holistic understanding of the global institutional ecosystem.
In reality, UIPM is a high-level institution within the international order. UIPM Indonesia is an integral part of UIPM Global, whose membership is based on strict and highly reputable criteria, including the following:
1. UIPM is recognized by the Union of International Associations (UIA), a globally credible institution that verifies and classifies internationally reputable organizations such as the United Nations, UNESCO, UNDP, WHO, UNU-WIDER, HESI, APQN, and UIPM itself.
2. UIPM is listed within the category and scale of highly reputable international institutions, on par with such global organizations.
3. UIPM is recognized by the Asia-Pacific Quality Network (APQN), a regional network for higher education quality assurance in the Asia-Pacific region. APQN is an organization that recognizes and encompasses national government accreditation bodies across various countries, including BAN-PT (Indonesia), MQA (Malaysia), NAA (Russia), QAA (United Kingdom), as well as other national quality assurance agencies.
4. UIPM is registered as an affiliate of UNU-WIDER (United Nations University – World Institute for Development Economics Research), which forms part of the United Nations University system. The UNU-WIDER network includes leading world-class universities such as Harvard University, the University of Cambridge, Stanford University, MIT, and other globally renowned institutions.
5. UIPM is also registered with the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI), a global initiative involving UNESCO, the United Nations University (UNU), and leading universities worldwide in advancing sustainable higher education.
Based on this international legitimacy, membership in UIPM Global requires recognition and integrity at the global level, rather than merely national administrative legality.
On this basis, UIPM Indonesia lawfully and officially serves as a representative of UIPM Global, in line with UIPM’s status as an organization holding Special Consultative Status with the United Nations ECOSOC.
Both APQN and UIPM fall within the category and scale of highly reputable international institutions, comparable to global organizations such as the United Nations and UNESCO, in accordance with classifications and verifications conducted by credible international bodies.
At present, UIPM Global maintains representatives across multiple countries and regions, including Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, the United States, France, the Middle East, Ghana, and Russia, all of which operate within a unified UIPM Global coordination system.
UIPM Global develops and implements a metaverse-based digital system as an institutional model for the future, designed to respond to the continuously evolving dynamics of technology and information advancement.
